Bali – Canggu

This post is really over due. I went to Bali in November 2017. I know. I have no excuses.

We started our trip in Canggu, arriving late to the most delightful AirBnb – pool flamingo and all.

It had an open plan living and dining area that made you feel both inside and outside at the same time; perfect for Bali luxury living.

The bedrooms were equally luxurious, with four poster canopy beds, and outdoor bathrooms (living that insta Bali dream).

There was also a rooftop deck, giving a great view of the pool, as well as the rice paddies next door.

We dropped our bags and headed out to find some food, and maybe a few too many drinks.

As a result I was pretty much out of action for the next full day (heat + alcohol + no sleep for over 24 hours = me unable to get out of bed).

We did have some massages booked in the house (about 10 AUD, and they come to you! heaven!) but then it was sleep for me while the others went out and explored.

After I finally got over my hangover, I was able to explore some of the local cafes. All the food in Bali was so delicious – not as cheap as I expected but excellent quality for the price.

Obligatory 3 drinks also.

Worth the terrifying moped ride for!

That night we explored Potato Head (classic), where we lounged and had some nibbles…

After this, we headed to my favourite restaurant we went to – Motel Mexicola.

It’s a restaurant that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into Merida or Tulum, with big booths that we settled in. We went for the set menu which was waay too much food – all delicious.

And then dinner quickly turned into tequila shots..

Meaning that the following day in the Villa was pretty much spent like this:

We ventured to the beach for some food and relaxing..

Always two drinks minimum, with breakfast quesadilla.

A very chilled day!

One of the other benefits of the villa is that it was fully staffed, and so we had some lovely ladies come in the next morning to make us some breakfast.

It was a delicious mix of fruit, eggs, bacon and mi goreng! Honestly what more could you want?

Sadly after this we had to leave our beautiful villa to head north to Ubud. In the next post!
