Hoboken is a great place to go when you don’t want to venture into the city but you’re looking for good food and a few drinks. One such spot here is Charritos. The teeniest tiniest restaurant, it is always packed – and for good reason.

Talor and I popped in with the hope that they would have a table to spare, and the wait time was only 20 minutes so we held out.

You settle into a compact table, with colourful cushions and paintings all around. It’s BYOB, and they’ll make you a jug of margaritas or sangria so that’s normally the first call of business.


The second call of business is obviously the guacamole. They make it at your table to your specifications (mild, medium or spicy), and it is delicious.



I went for a beef burrito and Talor had the chicken enchiladas. Both came with refried beans, rice and more guacamole. Both were seriously delicious.


We couldn’t even think about dessert because we were so stuffed. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food, and the place has a lovely charm and atmosphere.
