Where to watch Rugby in NYC

The Six Nations are looming and the question begs: where the hell do you go to watch Rugby in a country of American Football?

When the world cup was on, we went in search of a place and found that almost everywhere charges a $20 cover to watch it. Blasphemy.

Unfortunately, this is the way things go sometimes, and the majority of the time you just have to pay it. Your best bet to find rugby playing is Irish or British bars, or big sports bars. They often have a sports calendar on their website so you can check, and if not you can give them a call and they will be able to let you know.

On my internet search Brass Monkey and the Australian always seem to be the top of the list. I have been to the Grafton which was a nice place but fairly small – so it depends what kind of atmosphere you’re looking for.

For the England vs Scotland game we’re going to try out the Brass Monkey. I’ve been there a few times, but not for Rugby so I’ll report back.
