Natalie Wood is a BOSS – and she knows it. She’s a self-declared wild child, make up artist, tattoo artist (sharpie and stick and poke) and independent woman.
I started following her on Instagram a couple of years ago because she’s a great artist. She was always posting paintings, drawings, screen prints and sharpie tats and I am always looking for creative inspiration.
Her artwork is like a cross between fine art and illustration.
Her sharpie tats are divine.
At the age of 20 in 2013, Nat started a clothing and lifestyle brand called Badwood. She hand screen printed all the items by herself in her parents garage. A true one-woman operation.
All designs are original and her own.
As the business has grown, facilitated by her badass photoshoots (Badwood Tumblr), she has moved towards mass production, but still insists on personally screen-printing any limited edition items.
You can get Badwood t-shirts, hoodies, hats, duvert covers, temporary tattoos and even rugs. You name it, she makes it.
If you’re lucky, or a celebrity, she might even do you a hand drawn piece.
When she’s not hustling and running her own company, she’s a professional make up artist working on big shoots in LA.
Nat is my woman crush Wednesday because she has taken her talent and turned it into a thriving business. She works hard and has a vision.
“I like the idea of a chick who can hustle on her own, be respectful, keep it classy, mysterious, and badass all at once” – Nat Wood
