I’ve been seeing Smorgusburg all over Instagram, and decided I had to go. As we went on a Sunday, it was being held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
So me and my lovely room mate Emily set off in the aim of eating as many good things as we could find.
Wandering through Prospect Park we almost missed it. But I turned my head to the side and spotted it in the corner of my eye.
So we followed our noses and headed for food Nirvana.
There were food booths of all kinds as far as the eye could see.
Being the logical people we are, we decided to pick a spot in the shade and divide and conquer. I however, could not wait and decided to grab myself the most delicious maple lemonade.
I was sad when it finished.
I sent Emily off first and she chose a BBQ Chicken Burger. I asked her where she got it from and she said “I dunno, the chicken stand”. Very helpful, thanks Emily.
After wandering around all the stalls twice (I really couldn’t decide), I picked the one with the biggest queue. It turned out to be Ramen Burger.
It was kind of weird, and pretty good actually. Definitely a must try.
We decided to share some fries from Home Frite after seeing so many people with them. They. were. huge.
CLEARLY we couldn’t leave without having dessert. I had been eyeing up the ice cream sandwiches, so I headed for them, whilst Emily went for the much healthier Strawberry Popsicle.
I had the Goodwich, and it was good.
We ate our desserts as we walked, and headed to meet some friends at Photoville; a free outdoor photography exhibition.
We wandered, had some beers and were silly in a photobooth.
We finished the day by getting some bikes and cycling over the Brooklyn Bridge back to the city at sunset. I don’t have any pictures because I was enjoying the views too much, but the pinky/orangey/blue sky, the bridge and the skyline made it a perfect New York moment.
