I live in a place called Newport, Jersey City. Luckily for me, it’s right on the waterfront and I have a great view of the city. It also happens to be right next to Hoboken.
So, one hungover Saturday I decided to explore Hoboken. Most people will know it to be the home of Carlo’s bakery from Cake Boss. Of course I had a peak in the window but the queue was so long and food was calling.

I found Hoboken surprisingly lovely (I had low expectations). The buildings were quaint, the streets were clean and there was an abundance of places to eat and drink. We chose the Brass Rail for a late lunch. We started with guacamole and bloody marys, because, why not.
It came with 3 types of guacamole. One of which had bacon. BACON. It deserved a close up.
It’s safe to say we finished it pretty quickly.
I had a turkey burger that was so good I could have eaten it again. We washed our mains down with Sangria.

Hoboken also has loads of great bars with happy hour deals like $2 frozen margaritas – who can say no to that?!
As the Mayor of Hoboken said: ‘Why live in Manhattan and look at Hoboken, when you can live in Hoboken and look at Manhattan?’. I recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
